Dear competitors, coaches and officials,

On behalf of the WAKO Nederland and Karatedo Yōkoso it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Yōkoso Dutch Open in The Netherlands, at Sporthallen Zuid Burgerweeshuispad 54 1076 EP in Amsterdam. This great tournament will be held on the Friday 1st, Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd of March 2024. Last years the tournament showed to be a big success. In 2023 we had 28 countries present, we will offer you guaranteed high quality forms and fights. The tournament has been growing for the past 10 years and this will be the first time that we will do it in two days competition. On Friday we will have the weight- in and we will start with the Grand Champion and Tag team Pointfighting.  For the Grand Champion Men division there is a prize of 1000 euro, Women 1000 euro. We will have all Point Fighting and Traditional forms on Saturday. Also all the grandchampion Forms and the Battles we will have on the Saturday, aswell as Ring Sports. On Sunday we’ll have all Light Contact, Kick Light divisions, LC Tag Team (New this year), all creative and musical Forms . Depending on the registration we will have also on Sunday K1. By Dutch Law it’s not allowed to have any contact to the head up till 17 years, so all categories K1 Younger Cadets (up till 12 years), Older Cadets (up till 15 years) and Juniors (up till 17 years) no contact to the head. We will have this year again Forms for disabled athletes as we had last year. The WAKO Nederland is proud to host this Yōkoso Dutch Open event and our organizing committee with the Yōkoso Team is doing its utmost in order to make the Yōkoso Dutch Open as successful as previous editions.
